MXM Lab

Research Assistant of Madison Experimental Mathematics Lab (MXM)

The Madison Experimental Mathematics Lab was founded in 2021, and aims to enhance and support undergraduate research within the Department of Mathematics and the University of Wisconsin.

Topic: Causality based data-driven model identification and dynamical interpolation

This project developed a sparse model identification method based on causation entropy inference, incorporating physics via causality into model identification. Applications include El Nino-Southern Oscillation and Madden-Julian Oscillation data sets.

Topic: Understanding the Relationship Between the Mean States and RO Parameters for ENSO

This project aims to understand the relationship between the mean state of the El NiƱo-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the fundamental parameters of the Recharge Oscillator (RO) model. An auto-learning framework is proposed to generate explicit formulas, offering a quantitative measure of this relationship.
